Student Financial Assistance Appeal Committees
Key links and documents
There are two Student Financial Assistance Appeal Committees: one in Edmonton and one in Calgary.
The committees hear appeals from students who have either had their application for student financial assistance refused or they were not provided with the entire amount they requested. In cases where a student is considered ineligible for assistance under the Student Financial Assistance Regulation or is not a resident of Alberta, appeals must be made directly to the Minister.
Each committee is comprised of three public members and three student members. A chairperson, public member and student member hear each appeal and make a recommendation to the Minister, who then makes a decision on the appeal.
