First Nations and Metis students helped to pursue health careers
Edmonton... The Government of Alberta is providing over $300,000 to help Aboriginal students follow career paths in the health sector. The Aboriginal Health Careers Bursary provides awards between $2,000 and $11,000 to 52 First Nations and Metis recipients.

Scholarships help Alberta students pursue trades careers
Calgary... One hundred fifty-seven students in the Calgary area and southern Alberta will each receive $1,000 scholarships to further their careers in a variety of trades. The Government of Alberta, in partnership with industry, funds the scholarships which go to Alberta high school graduates who participated in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) and who target careers in trades.
