New research uses virtual worlds to enhance patient care
Edmonton... An innovative new Health Services Education program uses virtual reality technologies to simulate the fast-paced, complex world of the modern hospital. Researchers at the University of Alberta’s Health Sciences Education and Research Commons (HSERC) are working with iCORE Industry Research chair Dr. Eleni Stroulia.

Alberta tech ventures get closer to market
Calgary... Alberta’s first round of innovation vouchers totalling more than $5 million have been awarded to companies from 24 communities across the province. The vouchers awarded through Alberta’s Innovation Voucher Pilot Program will help these companies to develop their innovative ideas into marketable products or services at labs, fabrication centers, business development centres and other organizations supporting innovation.
