Youth Programs and Services

The Apprenticeship and Industry Training system offers excellent opportunities for young Albertans. You can explore an apprenticeship and even begin parts of your training while still enrolled in high school.

Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)

The Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is a special program that allows high school students to

  • become apprentices
  • earn credit toward an apprenticeship program
  • work toward their Alberta high school diploma
  • earn a wage for their time on the job

500 RAP Scholarships of $1,000 each are also available annually to RAP participants!

Youth Apprenticeship Project (YAP)

The Youth Apprenticeship Project (YAP) helps students in Grades 7 to 12 explore career options through integrated activities that link academic and applied learning.
