The Apprenticeship and Industry Training system offers excellent opportunities for young Albertans. You can explore an apprenticeship and even begin parts of your training while still enrolled in high school.

Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)

The Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is a special program that allows high school students to

  • become apprentices
  • earn credit toward an apprenticeship program
  • work toward their Alberta high school diploma
  • earn a wage for their time on the job

500 Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)/Career and Technology Studies (CTS) Scholarships of $1,000 each are available annually to RAP/CTS students.  In addition, over 350 AIT Scholarships of $1,000 each are available for apprentices, occupational trainees and pre-apprentices.
